We specialise in cleaning, blasting and relining / coating tanks and areas on board yachts.

Fuel Tank Cleaning is critical to keep the vessel’s engines and generators functioning efficiently.  Yacht fuel tank cleaning and inspection should be part of your vessel’s scheduled maintenance plan.  Contaminant build up resulting from excessive microbial growth in the fuel can cause filters to become clogged.  Algae, water, and micro-organisms cause fuel degradation and the formation of waste products.  Blocked filters will cause loss of RPM’s, poor engine performance, lower fuel economy and the worst possible scenario an engine shutdown at sea.  Routine diesel fuel tank cleaning will ensure no unscheduled downtime.

Black & Grey Water Tanks have the most highly corrosive atmospheres of all tanks created by the release of Hydrogen Sulfide from accumulated waste.  The upper portion of the tank lining exposed to the tank’s atmosphere experiences an accelerated rate of declining lifespan.  Once the epoxy tank lining begins to fail the underlying steel or aluminum surface will corrode at a rapid rate.  It is important to catch this early on through regular cleaning and inspections before the tank excessively corrodes requiring mandatory replacement

We have the capability to complete the job properly and neatly even while the vessel is in the water.  It is much more cost effective and faster to properly clean, blast and line the tanks with an epoxy tank lining before severe corrosion sets in.

Dry Ice blasting does a superior job preparing surfaces for painting because it provides the “cleanest” surface available.

When dry ice is blasted across a surface, the dry ice particles penetrates deep into any pores, profiles, grooves, or crevices until it makes contact with the inner most surface. At this point it sublimes and expands 800 times its size thereby removing any possible contaminant not just on the surface, but deep within the surface.

This deep clean is revolutionizing surface preparation because the cleaner the surface, the better a coating will bond, and therefore, the longer it will last. In addition, ice blasting removes all microorganisms and oils as well which can contribute to paint failure if they are not removed.

Coatings can be applied immediately after the surface is ice blasted because it is completely dry. If the surface is already wet, ice blasting will dry out the wet surface. Collectively, these characteristics of ice blasting provide the cleanest possible surface for application and coating, as well as the best surface for the paint to bond.

These qualities, compared to other methods, produce the greatest longevity for the paint’s lifespan.

Anti fouling

Dry Ice Blasting is environmentally  friendly and ideal for the removal of anti-fouling from yachts,  commercial vessels, marine equipment etc. as it does not use any  chemicals and leaves a clean dry finish ready for further treatment.

Traditional sandblasting to remove antifoul paint from boat hulls can  damage the gel coat because it is abrasive.  Also, the sand which is  used as the blast media gets contaminated with the anti foul paint which  is deemed to be toxic – so has to be disposed of responsibly. Dry ice cleaning offers an alternative to other blast media solutions  which is much ‘kinder’ to the boat hull – it is non abrasive so will  not damage the gel coat.  What’s more dry ice blasting will effectively  expose any osmosis present leaving it perfectly clean for repair.  The  dry ice used as the blast media has the unique ability to sublimate on  impact with a surface – this means there is no added by product waste to  dispose of - which means there is less toxic waste to get rid of.

Fire damage & brick restoration

Dry Ice Blast Cleaning, offers an efficient method to clean fire, vaporized synthetic resins and soot damage. In addition, dry ice blasting is known to reduce or even eliminate the musty burnt smell that results from fire and smoke damage. The dry ice blast cleaning process cleans even in tight angles,  around nails, wiring and plumbing components without damaging their  surface integrity. Dry ice blasting can be used on wood, brick, concrete  and metal to remove soot, smoke damage and charring that resulted from  fire damage.

Engine & Electrical

Dry Ice  Blast Cleaning offers a safe, effective and fast way to complete  maintenance on electric power generation equipment.  Clean electrical equipment is key to peak performance in the Power  Generation industry. ‘ Dirty’ equipment can result in low meg readings  as well as catastrophic equipment failure. Efficiency can be reduced and  outages can be caused by flashover.

Traditional cleaning methods can require dismantling of equipment,  cooling, cleaning, drying, and re-assembly which can take many hours.  The need to keep equipment running may mean that essential cleaning may  be deferred, resulting in reduced efficiency both operationally and  financially. Dry ice blasting cleans hot and in situ with minimal or no  dismantling needed and no byproduct mess created. The fact that dry ice  blasting is dry means that electrical components can be effectively  cleaned safely and in place. Downtime will be greatly reduced meaning  minimal disruption to service with improved performance. From small electric motors to power stations Dry Ice Blasting offers a  fast, effective, chemical and water free method of deep cleaning.  Typically, using dry ice cleaning, downtime will be 65% less when  compared to the downtime required using alternative methods.
